About Us

The Sugar Skols were born of a family decision to take a chance on starting a relay team back in 2023. Our first season was small with just two events. We finished the season reaching Gold level. But it wasn't until relay weekend 2023: Hope Floats that everything really changed for us. That weekend was full of magic and energy and as newbies to the scene we got to really experience what this movement was all about and the true power behind the One Team One Dream concept. Friendships were found on that track and it set a fire that burns ever brightly to this day. We hit the ground running HARD in 2024 under Captains Rafe and Naomi Odinson and skyrocketed to Emerald Status raising over One Million linden while establishing events and energy that would come to define us. We all have the loved ones we fight for; those who fight, those who survived, and those who we have lost along the way. We have survivors and people currently battling this terrible illness among our shield wall and we fight arm in arm with them. Our foundations stem from a shared connection of Norse Pagan roots for some of the original members of The Skols. We follow the Viking code and apply it our fight against cancer and the Relay Community at large. Our modern day art of war involves fundraising, support, encouragement and rallying behind our fellow warriors. We offer support to all teams and bring all our fired up energy to your fight as well as our own. We may be newer to this fight but we be fierce and a force to be reckoned with. We are taking bold actions with massive events, aggressive fundraising campaigns, and even some Viking meditation along the way because everything in this life is about balance. This team thrives on PRIDE and that includes all manner of LGBTQIA+ support. We embrace our rainbow in all its forms whether its the make up of our team, our literal Bifrost track, or our neon rainbow decor and iconography.
